| Acclaim Sports Collegiate Challenge
For many college students, spare time means video games. To showcase Acclaim Sports video games, NMG created the Acclaim Sports Collegiate Challenge at 20 colleges and universities during Nov/Dec 1999. Some of the schools included: Northeastern, George Mason, South Carolina, Florida State, Marquette, Mississippi State, and Univ. Texas-Arlington.
Two Acclaim Sports touring trucks traveled to college campuses "dressed up" on the outside with the colorful graphics from three of Acclaim Sports titles NFL Quarterback Club 2000 featuring Brett Favre; NBA JAM 2000 with Chris Webber and All-Star Baseball 2000 featuring Derek Jeter.
The vans were equipped with gaming stations, prizes and Acclaim Sports merchandise. Each campus winner received a Nintendo 64 game system and an entry into a drawing for a trip to the 2000 NBA All-Star Game in Oakland, CA.
The tour was supported by an aggressive public relations campaign by NMGPR with nearly two dozen local TV stations and newspapers featuring stories about Acclaim Sports. |
