Nike 3 For All Keeps Girls Shooting

More than 13,000 girls ages 17 & under competed in Nike 3 For All in 1998-99 making it the nation’s largest basketball skills competition exclusively for girls. For the program’s fifth year (1999-2000), up to 15,000 participants shot it out at more than 150 local competitions in 12 WNBA cities.

"Nike 3 for All has clearly established itself as the premiere basketball skills competition for girls," said Michael Goldberg, CEO of NMG.

Nike 3 For All consists of three events (Speed Dribble, Super Shot and Free Throw). Up to 20 local competitions are held in each market nationwide. Winners in each age group (12 & under, 13-14, 15-17) advance to compete at one of 15 regional competitions at a local college or university.

The program culminates with the Nike 3 for All National Championships at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. A group of 45 of the nation’s top young female basketball players competed for the national title and rubbed elbows with WNBA stars including Sheryl Swoopes.
